data recovery still being postponed due to all the awesome little projects that come in between.  also no pix again because i forgot to bring my cam back from the boat yesterday, where the sandings more or less done, so was doing some tests with the rotary tool on the hull and was looking into the shape and state of the daggerboard(if thats the right pronouncation harhar) wich is pretty banged up and part rotten. plan now is to strengthen it with stainless steel. gotta love being in a metal workshop for all those small things. wednesday i hope to meet with a few of my dads friends who are much more experienced with polyestering and structural progress of these matters, due to their hobby, kit cars and some also boats. gonna make a list of questions for em like theres no tomorrow! im exited to hear their input on the matter! gonna be good to hear some advice as im getting a bit scared at times by the overwhelming amount of misinformation being thrown on the web. i will try to keep my build as sober and realistic as possible, always happy to answer any questions if you have any.
keep in mind im still working on this thing solo, without expert help, just 10/15 years sailing experience as a kid. handy with tools and great at doing creative stuff on the fly but not used to long projects. im just trying to prove among others to myself its ok to dream these things and realise them even if youre a lower class financially. the universe does not revolve around me, like those fuckers at -->Cern<--(worth some awareness here!) think for instance. being pressed down, it can be done. that not everything in life is about making enough money to get by in this flawed society. in modern times the sailing recreationally is being bound as well by money grabbing and many other factors i will not talk about now, with a little planning and patience, trial and error, it can still be a beautiful thing and is not as far fetched and impossible as many try to make us believe. its good to dream, even better to work to realise them. under the yoke of financial and time restraint, im still doing this and the result will be a small portable sailboat i can store easy and move easy. tickling myself with the destinations and the trips there that i can make with this little tub. a blessing indeed. huge updates soon on the progress and more detailed descriptions once i get around to some real visual progress.
on another tune, recently needed to sharpen some chisels(with recent developments not much money to spend so i bought cheap chisels that become blunt easily)
was happening to take apart some old hdds to see about those magnets in there for a tool rack im making, just googled what kinda fun stuff i could do with the rest of it, found this and thought, shit, ive been needing one of those grind machines for ages! built it, its functional, not your awesome heavy duty expensive machinery, but its a great temp alternative id say! also found a nice way to use one as a speaker here but i ran out of hdds for the time being to build it. looks fun though!
just got another bike in for full overhaul, but today no working on it, going to clean up my storage space downstairs to get more room for a small module-based rowboat project ill be building from wood in a few weeks. will be easily stored and should fit on top of a small car. more about this later.
The box guitar is on a dead stop atm since my electric figure saw is not powerful enough to manufacture some of the components. might get a band saw donated soon, would be awesome! and will be detailing it when i get around to picking the project up again.
thanks for the interest!
Tom
